About Bequesta
Built around the belief that every family deserves clarity
Bequesta was established in Chiang Mai to offer a calmer path through the questions that families often face when thinking about the future and what is left behind.

How Bequesta came to be
Bequesta grew from a simple observation: when a family member passes or becomes unable to manage their own affairs, the people left to help often find themselves without a clear picture of what records exist, where they are kept, or who to contact. The situation is not unusual — but the resulting confusion and additional distress are avoidable with a little preparation.
Founded in Chiang Mai, Bequesta was shaped by conversations with families across Thailand — local families and expatriate households alike — who expressed a wish for straightforward, respectful support. Not advice, not representation, but clear information and practical organisation tools that they could work through at their own pace.
The name Bequesta reflects the dual focus of the work: the act of passing something on, and the quiet enquiry into what that means for each family. The programmes we offer are designed with this in mind — never rushed, never prescriptive, and always pointing participants toward the qualified specialists they may need for specific steps.
We are a small team. We do not claim to cover every situation, and we are careful about the boundaries of our work. What we can offer is a thoughtful starting point, and a space where families can begin to think through these matters without feeling overwhelmed.
Mission
To make the unfamiliar a little more navigable
Bequesta's purpose is to give families the information and organisation support they need to feel less uncertain about the records they hold and the steps that may lie ahead. We do not advise, draft, or represent — we educate, organise, and facilitate conversation.
Our programmes are built around the belief that preparation, done gently and with good information, makes a genuine difference to the experience families have when they most need clarity.
Dignity in every interaction
We work with the awareness that these topics can carry emotional weight. Tone, timing, and language are chosen with care.
Clear boundaries
We are explicit about what our programmes cover and what they do not. Participants always know when to consult a qualified specialist.
Paced to suit the family
No programme has a fixed urgency. Families move through the material when they are ready, with support available throughout.

Our Standards
How we hold ourselves accountable
Privacy protection
Personal information shared during programmes is handled with care, used only for service delivery, and never passed to third parties without permission.
Content accuracy
All educational material is reviewed for accuracy against publicly available Thai administrative guidance and updated when relevant changes occur.
Referral responsibility
We identify consistently when a matter falls outside our scope and point participants toward appropriate qualified practitioners, without recommendation or endorsement.
Participant feedback
Each programme concludes with a structured review. Feedback is used to refine materials and facilitation approaches on a continuous basis.
Accessible language
Materials are written and tested for clarity with non-specialist readers. Legal or administrative terms are always explained in plain English when they appear.
Sensitivity in delivery
Facilitators are briefed to recognise when a participant or family may need a pause, additional time, or a different approach. We work at the pace of each family.
Expertise & Approach
Education and organisation as a foundation
Estate and inheritance matters sit at the intersection of practical administration and deeply personal circumstances. For many families in Thailand — whether long-established local households or international families building a life here — the unfamiliarity of local processes adds to the difficulty of an already sensitive time.
Bequesta addresses this by offering structured educational content and guided organisational tools. The Personal Records Companion provides a step-by-step framework for gathering and labelling what a family holds — documents, contacts, accounts, and wishes — in a way that anyone can follow without prior knowledge of estate administration.
The Plain-Language Information Series takes a broader view, helping participants understand how inheritance, property, and record-keeping are generally handled in Thailand and where to seek official guidance. It does not replicate or substitute professional advice; it builds the background knowledge that makes engaging with a professional a more productive and less daunting experience.
The Family Legacy Conversation Programme approaches the subject differently — as a conversation to be had together, rather than a task to be completed alone. Facilitated sessions help family members share what they know, what they hope for, and where key information can be found, reducing the risk that this knowledge is lost or fragmented.
Across all three programmes, the approach is consistent: honest about scope, respectful in tone, and oriented toward leaving participants better equipped than when they arrived — not more confused, not under pressure, and not without a next step they can confidently take.
